Palmer's Homecoming Parade

Palmer had their Homecoming Parade a week ago. We live on the main road threw town so they came right in front of our house. It was a lot of fun. Tanner loved it. He waved, and shouted, and cheered them on. Of course just like any boy, he was more into the cheerleaders. LOL! Until the Duke's of Hazzard cars came. Tanner love love love's The Duke's of Hazzard.

Its been awhile

Gotta play catch up...

Daddy teaching Tanner how to play football. Love this so much!!

HE CAUGHT IT!!! My future football'r, makes me so happy!

Tanner eating at Joe's Crab Shack. He got to wear a bib, cause the waitress got his order wrong. She thought he ordered crab. lol... owell it was fun

Scooter wearing his Joe's Crab Shack Bib. Hope he doesn't see this, it wasn't too happy that I took this picture.

Playing on the monkey bars at Joe's

And this my friends is my silly kid during bath time. He has to fill the tub up with toys, this time it happened to be hot wheels. So he made a track out of the rim of the tub. Gotta love his personality!!
Tanner had to do a family picture collage as part of his homework at school. So this is what we put together.

Slowly but surely!

Tuesday News: Tanner was whining, he knew his dad was home so he wanted his dad. I finally get him in the car to head to the school and he's crying not wanting to go. I had to walk him in and he started acting better. Wasn't crying or anything. We get to cafeteria and he see's one of his friends. So I tell him to go get him, he takes off towards the gym. I tell him bye and he goes in without a problem. Thank goodness! I am very proud of him. After school we came home and ate lunch. We left headed towards Grand Prairie to Scooter's parents house, looked in the fields down the road and noticed there was a huge fire going on. So we immediately started checking into it online and pulled up the scanner. Grass fire! Yikes, they are popping up everywhere. Scares me. It went on for about 5+ hours. 200-250 acres, 1 vehicle, 1 RV & 1 boat lost. Horrible! Then another fire popped up in Waxahachie/Red Oak area, not sure of the damage there. When we got back from his parents house we went to check out the damage of the in Palmer and noticed that another fire was down the road in Garrett. We drove down there and it was someones mobile home. I feel so bad for all these people who are affected by these fires. WE DESPERATELY NEED RAIN!

Wednesday News: This morning was much much better. Tanner got up and got off to school without crying at all. He did ask me to walk him into school. So I did. We got to where his classroom and the cafeteria are and he says, "mom, I'll walk in by myself if you want me to." I tell him ok and bye and walk away. He walked in just a smiling and looked so big. I am happy for him . I hope its like this from now on.

Grandparent's Day

Although yesterday was Grandparent's Day, Today (Monday) is Grandparent's Day at Tanner's school. Mimi got to go with us to school and eat breakfast. Tanner showed her around, showed her his classroom & the cafeteria. He was happy bringing her to his school. He didn't eat any of his breakfast though. So when it came time for us to leave he showed Mimi how he had to walk to the gym. He started to tear up as he walked away, but was fine.

Daddy is off work for a few days, so he had the idea to take Tanner and Tex (our dog) to the lake. So after we picked up Tanner we went home and got the dog and everything ready. Scooter took his metal detector to play around with. Only found 66 cents. But we had a good time.

OH WEEKEND...OH WEEKEND...

Weekends just aren't long enough! This past weekend was a little relaxing. Didn't really have any plans, again. Did some yard selling Friday. Dad found some pretty good deals. Coffee Table-$10, Tool box for truck (full of tools)-$10, almost new Tiller-$20. I bought a huge box of novels for $2.

Tanner got his first fundraiser Friday. We are so excited, can't wait to sell a bunch of stuff so that he can get his limo ride to Cici's. Goal is 15, so far we have 11. But still have a lot of people to hit up. I know we will make it happen. Tanner also got another Top Dog Card-#12, and a Fish Card. The Fish Card is given to the student when they are caught doing something good by another adult, non-teacher. The ones with the most cards (I think) get to have a popcorn party at school. So he is excited about that.

Scooter watered our yard this weekend, and of course Tanner had to get out there and have some fun with it. He played in the sprinkler. It was fun!

Happy Hump Day

~Happy Hump Day World~
Going to school isn't very fun for mom in the mornings. Tanner done great the first week, then after that he seems to not want to go. HELP!!
He threw a fit all morning, I knew I was going to have to walk him in the school because he wasn't going to get out of the car otherwise. So we sign in and go to the cafeteria, he clings onto me and starts bawling. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. Luckily the coach happened to walk up, again, and immediately took him and talked to him as they walked to the gym.

So when I got home I started asking for advice and thinking of things I could do to help the situation. I made some little cards with different activities, and stuff that is fun. I told him when he gets home everyday from school he gets to pick a card and whatever's on that card we get to do that day. If its $1 card he gets to save them up and buy something. He liked the idea.

When I picked him up from school he was happy, started telling me about the science experiment they done today. He had a substitute, Mrs. Baker wasn't there today. The experiment was with magnets, they got to see how they worked. They picked up paper clips and different metal objects with them. He was excited about that.

Later that day we had to take a little trip to Grand Prairie to pick up daddy from work. He had to work late, so he didn't get to ride the van-pool. We stopped by Granny Nancy's before and Tanner got to play with Josh and Colton. He had fun, he didn't want to leave. They talked to him about school and how fun it was. I had hoped that it would help him. We shall see....
