Weekend Fun

Thank goodness this was a long weekend. We need that extra day to catch up on some rest. Waking up at 4:50am to take Scooter to his van-pool, then back home to sleep for another hour, wake up at 6:30am to get Tanner up and ready for school... wears a momma out. But I do anything I have to do for my boys.

Friday- Mom was home sick, so the whole family got to go pick up Tanner from school. He was very excited! They got to see what I have to do everyday. We had to go run errands all over the world it seemed. Took Tanner to eat at Taco Bell. Then we got home around 4 and kinda relaxed.

Saturday- We went and ate at Denny's for lunch, very very bad experience by the way. Then we went to the grocery store. Scooter got stuff to cook out on Sunday. We ended up having to go back to the grocery store to get stuff we forgot. Then we came home and hung out.
Sunday- We were home most of the day. Scooter woke up at 730am and started smoking some ribs and a pork butt. I ended up having to go back to the store for toilet paper and shampoo/conditioner. LOL, I know...we always for a million things. Then we had an awesome dinner. Ribs, Pork Butt, seasoned potatoes, cornbread, beans & stuffed jalapenos. It was so good! And then it was time for an adult beverage, or two. I made some peach wine-a-rita's. Absolutely delish!

Monday-  We took Tanner to McDonald's, his favorite. He played the entire time. Which was ok with us. He ate in the car. After that we went to Corsicana to Atwoods to look around. Then came home, had dinner and that was it for our weekend.

It was nice to not have plans, and just go day by day. Do whatever we thought of at the time.

Thursday Already

Another doubtful morning. Tanner once again didn't want to go into school. I just had to keep talking to him about all the fun things they were going to do and learn. About all his new friends, he even wrote Josh (his BFF) a little note to take to him. He got out and walked in like a big boy, but was crying again. I think he just has to get used to me leaving him everyday. Once he's  in the school is fine.

Mimi brought Tanner 2 pigs n a blanket and a Yoohoo for breakfast. He loved it. He didn't eat it, he wanted to save it for later. So he drank it when he got home. And informed me that he wanted a whole bunch of them for his breakfast everyday.

When I picked him up he was excited. He could not wait to tell me that he got another TOP DOG card. That makes 10. YAY!! I'm so happy for him. I sure hope his name gets called for that prize. He also met a new friend today, Jose.  Him, Josh and Jose will be in the same morning class this year. He also brought home a Thank You card from his teacher for sending her a birthday card. It was really sweet. That made him feel good for her to give him that.

Mommy & Tanner

 MY WHOLE WORLD!!!

Getting over the HUMP

Wednesday...
Tanner did not want to go to school this morning. Once he gets inside he's fine. I think he still has to get used to not being with mom all day. It will get better.

I had to keep him occupied in the car while we were waiting to get to the school doors, he played a game on my phone. We get to the doors and the the teacher lets him out and gets his backpack on, I look back as I'm driving away and he is wiping tears away from his face. It breaks my heart, but I know he will be okay.

When I pulled up at the school to pick him up, his class was at the playground having recess. I was so happy that I got to see him with his friends. He was playing with his best friend Josh, and Kaden. They were standing there talking, then I see Kaden grab Tanner's hand and walk with him. That was so sweet. It made me feel better that he was getting along with the other kids and had made friends. He didn't see me at first, but when he did he got excited. He ran to his teacher and pointed me out and gave me a little wave.

Tanner was in a good mood when he came out and got in the car. He had a good day.  He said he didn't want to tell me what they did in class though.

Later that night me and daddy had to go to Pre-K orientation. We learned so much about Tanner's school and class. I am so glad that we went. And.... his teacher gave Tanner 6 more Top Dog cards for us going, plus he won an ABC poster in a drawing.  He was excited when I told him.

Back to School

Tanner did great this morning getting up for school. No problems. Even though he still isn't feeling good.

I had to walk him into school to give them his Dr note and talk to the teacher. He was so happy that I walked him in. He wanted me to tell that lady in the cafeteria that he didn't have to eat breakfast if he don't want to. I guess in the morning's there's a teacher that helps them get their breakfast. Well, he's been eating at home so when he gets up there he tells her no he don't want to eat but she makes him anyway. I didn't see her this morning to tell her, so I just told him to tell her that he already ate and that his mom said it was ok for him to go straight to the gym.

We went to the gym where they have to line up and wait for the teacher. We just sat there quite and waited. Once his teacher got there I explained his sickness and everything and I left. I thought he was going to call after me, but he didn't.

When i picked him up he seemed to have really had a good day. He was very happy and talkative. He got a Top Dog coupon, to put his name in a drawing for prizes. He met some new kids in his class. And he brought home his Raccoon puppet he made. ;)

Sick Boy!

Tanner woke up Sunday with a runny nose and congestion. But was up playing and being his normal self until that evening. He didn't want to eat dinner, said nothing tasted right. I gave him some tylenol before so that he would be able to sleep good.

Monday morning he was very hesitant and slow getting up and ready. I could tell he really didn't feel good. I wanted him to try and go to school anyway since he wasn't running fever. I hate that he would have miss school already.

We finally get it all together and pull up at the school, in the back of the line, with cars behind us. Tanner starts crying, really sad cry, break a momma's heart kind of cry. He was telling me he didn't feel good and he just wanted to turn around and go home. I had to wait in the line all the way to doors before we could get out of the parking lot. I tried to talk to him and make him understand that I know he was sick but it wasn't good to miss school. If he stayed home we were going to lay down for awhile and then I was taking him to the Dr.

Well, the Dr visit went well. She did a strep test, and we wont get the results for 48 hours. She said his throat was real red, and that he had allergies. Until we know the results of the strep test I can only give him tylenol and allergy meds. She prescribed amoxicillian but I can only give it to him if he starts running a fever or the results come back positive.

I hate seeing my baby sick. His little voice is hoarse and he can barely breathe threw his nose. Hopefully it clears up soon.

Saturday was full of parties!

This past Saturday was a full day. We left the house at 10am and didn't get home til almost midnight. Tanner was excited. He couldn't want to see his friends.

First we had to go to The Forum Bowling Alley for Scooter's niece Abby's birthday. Tanner had a blast bowling. He did great, even got a strike.

After Abby's birthday party we had to go Chuck E Cheese for Baby Ruben's birthday. We all had a lot of fun. Tanner got to eat his favorite pizza and play lots of games.

Then after Baby Ruben's party we went to Nonna & Ricky's house for Uncle Robert's birthday. We were exhausted!
